Grade level volunteer opportunities allow for time in the classroom, time in the grade level workrooms or time spent at home helping out with grade level needs such as sorting, cutting, etc. Parents may also assist with class parties.
Join us for our annual Friedship Day Dance on Friday, February 6, 2026. Sign up here to help with set-up beforehand, stations during, and clean-up after. Help Us Assemble Friend‑O‑Grams for Friendship Day! The Student Council is looking for volunteers to help sort and assemble Friend‑O‑Grams for a special Friendship Day. We will be set up in Ms. Netherland's class F102. ¡Ayúdennos a armar los Friend-O-Grams para el Día de la Amistad! El Consejo Estudiantil busca voluntarios para ayudar a organizar y armar los Friend-O-Grams para un Día de la Amistad especial. Nos instalaremos en la clase F102 de la Sra. Netherland.

We are looking for volunteers to support our Mitchell community and make all events as inclusive as possible. Any level of participation helps. If you're bilingual, reach out today and see what opportunities are available.

Listed below are some specific Mitchell Elementary volunteer opportunities throughout the year:

 

  • Helping the teachers with workroom projects and centers
  • Compiling information packets that go home with the children
  • Reading with children
  • Helping in the front office with filing and communication
  • Assisting in the library with books and/or the Book Fairs
  • Assisting with Meteor Manuscripts
  • Field trips
  • Dads to help with the safe school initiative of the National Center for Fathering (WATCH D.O.G.S)
  • Grade Level Volunteers
  • Class parties
  • Bilingual support

 

We also need parent volunteers to help us organize and coordinate one-time special events such as:

 

  • International Night
  • Book Fair
  • School Carnival
  • Silent Auction
  • Auction pick-up
  • Fall Festival
  • Field day
  • Teacher Appreciation
  • Art Nights

 

Please think about volunteering, it means so much to the children and teachers! Even if you can only volunteer once for an hour or two, we need and want your help. Parental involvement is part of why we have a great school, so please volunteer today!
