President’s Corner

Dear Mitchell Students and Families,

              I hope that everyone enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing summer break! For those of you returning to Mitchell this school year, welcome back! To all our new families, a heartfelt welcome, and we are so excited to have you as part of our Mitchell family!

              As your PTA President for the 2024-2025, I am so excited about all that we have in store for this year! Please spend a moment to check out our PTA website at www.MitchellPTA.net and follow all our social media to stay in the know about upcoming events. We have a busy first semester already underway!

              One of our strategic focuses for this year is to expand upon our current dual-language program. We believe that it is a huge asset for our students to be exposed to new languages and cultures and look forward to embracing that even more this year. As part of that effort, our PTA has equipped our school library with a brand-new series of bilingual learning kits for all our students to interact with as part of the new language learning station. Additionally, we are working to create more bilingual learning tools throughout the campus along with resources shared on the new “Language Learning” tab on our PTA website. Continue to check back as we hope to expand upon this!

              I hope that each of you will make it a point to connect with other Mitchell families this year. We truly have the best community! Just putting yourself out there at an event or after-school on the playground can quickly lead to lifelong friendships for both you and your child. We will continue to have lots of opportunities to volunteer throughout the year as well. I encourage everyone to please take advantage of the opportunity to get involved and strengthen your connection to your kids’ school. Becoming a PTA member is a great way to start. The registration cost is $15, which goes to support our PTA programs. All volunteer opportunities are completely optional, though I would highly recommend participating to get the most out of the Mitchell experience!
